How do I get to my account settings?

How do I change my password? How do I cancel my membership? How do I update the credit card I’m using for my subscription payments? How do I look at my purchase history?
We get a regular stream of emails from people who are a little baffled by the paywall interface on our videos. Just between us: that’s completely understandable! Our paywall partners, InPlayer, are great in a lot of ways, but the controls for doing standard account stuff take a little exploring to figure out.
So for this blog post, I’ll show you what some of the screens look like and step you through how to do some of the basic things you might want to do with your accounts on here. The first step is to go to a video… any video! Well, any non-free video. For this example, I’m going to use our first feature-film exclusive release, Sympathy For The Devil. There are four possible scenarios for what you might see.
Scenario 1 is a black screen with the message “This content is protected by a paywall.” If you see this screen, it is a fluke: this happens sometimes with some browsers, but if you reload the page it should go away.
Scenario 2 is the paywall screen with a “BUY” button, with no little blue face icon in the lower-right corner. (Compare that with the next screen image to help you see the face icon if you don’t see it right away.) If you see this screen, it means you are not logged in. When you click on the “BUY” button, you will be prompted to enter your email address and password to log in.
Scenario 3 is the paywall screen with a “BUY” button that shows a little blue face icon in the lower-right corner. (Compare the lower right corner of this image with the lower right corner of the previous one.) If you see this screen, you are logged in but do not have access to this particular video.
Scenario 4 is the thumbnail for the movie with a play button over the center, and it also shows a little blue face icon in the lower-right corner. If you see this screen, congratulations: it means the video is ready to play. But more importantly, you are now paying attention to the little blue face icon!
That little blue face icon is the key to everything! If you are logged in but don’t see the little blue face icon, it could be just that your browser dimensions are cutting it off. Try resizing things, and reloading the page, to see if it appears. It’s always easiest to find if the browser window is taller than it is wide, like on a phone in “portrait” mode.
No matter which screen you are in, if you tap on the little blue face icon, it should show you a menu of account options. Here are some examples of what it might look like, depending on the screen you are on when you do it:
The options on the menu are always the same:
- My Details shows your email address and when you signed up; it has links you can click or tap to show your purchases and your subscriptions; it shows your name, and lets you update your name if you want to; it also has an option for deleting your account.
- Purchases shows a list of your purchases, including one-time VOD purchases and your membership subscription if you have purchased one. You can also click on the “subscriptions” link to view the details of your membership subscription, or to cancel it.
- Card Details shows your card information; this is also where you can change the card you use for your membership payments, as well.
- Change Password is pretty self-explanatory, right?
- Logout is also probably self-explanatory.
This should be everything you need to know to get at all of your account options!
How to update your credit card information: click the blue face icon, click Card Details, enter the new information, click “UPDATE”
How to change your password: click the blue face icon, click Change Password, follow the instructions
How to cancel your subscription: click the blue face icon, click Purchases, click Subscriptions, click your Membership subscription, click Cancel Subscription.
How to delete your entire account: click the blue face icon, click My Details, click Delete Account.
